Everything
is bigger and better in Dallas – just ask anyone from Big D. As the
business and financial center of the Southwest, Dallas boasts a broad
variety of attractions ranging from its historical charm to its booming
city center to its Arts District. The West End Historic District is the
center of tourism in Dallas, with historical sites such as the Grassy
Knoll and Sixth Floor Museum, as well as an abundance of unique shops
and restaurants. Greenville Avenue is another popular area to find bars,
restaurants and boutique shopping. The Dallas Arts District is a 60-acre
downtown development devoted to art, music, drama and dance and includes
the Dallas Museum of Art, the Meyerson Symphony Center and the Crow
Collection of Asian Art, among other cultural attractions.
Dallas Convention Center
The Dallas Convention
Center is among the premier convention facilities in the US, offering
more than 725,000 sq. ft. of contiguous exhibit space in addition to a
200,000 sq. ft. column-free exhibit hall. The DCC also includes two
ballrooms, a theater and more than 100 meeting rooms. Reunion Arena is
also part of the DCC complex, and it plays host to major sporting and
entertainment events. Pioneer Plaza adds four acres of park space to the
DCC and offers a vast public space for outdoor events. Located in the
heart of the business district, The Dallas Convention Center is close to
major hotels and easily accessible from two major airports and DART,
Dallas’s mass-transit system.
