Perched at the foot
of the Rocky Mountains, Denver is among the most scenic and beautiful
cities in the U.S., offering a wide variety of attractions for lovers of
art, culture and the great outdoors. Downtown Denver is a lively
district filled with cafés, bars, brewpubs, galleries, museums, shops
and even a Six Flags amusement park. Denver is home to seven
professional sports franchises, including the NFL Broncos, MLB Rockies,
NHL Avalanche and NBA Nuggets. A city known for outdoor pursuits, Denver
offers 650 miles of paved bike trails, making the bicycle one of the
preferred modes of transportation. The Denver Art Museum is in the
middle of an ambitious expansion project (based on an innovative design
by architect Daniel Libeskind) that will open in 2006.
Colorado Convention Center
The Colorado
Convention Center is near the end of an expansion/renovation project
that will yield a total of nearly 600,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space that
can be configured for a variety of purposes. Lobbies on the 2nd
floor Exhibit Level offer stunning views of the Rocky Mountains on one
side and the city skyline on the other. Upon completion of the expansion
project, the Colorado Convention Center will include 62 meeting rooms,
two ballrooms and a new 5,000-seat auditorium, making the Colorado
Convention Center the premier trade show/convention venue in Denver. The
Convention Center plays hosts to popular events such as The Great
American Beer Festival and the Easy Riders Bike Show.
