From the foot of
Canal Street to the West Bank, New Orleans (that’s “Nawlins” to the
locals) has so much to offer that is unique to the Crescent City. In a
city that revolves the Mississippi River, uptown is “upriver,” downtown
is “downriver,” “riverside” is towards the river and “lakeside” is
towards Lake Ponchartrain. Of course, since the river snakes a winding
path through the city, it takes a little while to adjust to this
orientation, but once you do, navigation is, well... let’s just say you
should carry a street map on excursions into the Big Easy. The French
Quarter, of course, and the bars of Bourbon Street are some of the best
known features of this city heralded for revelry, but there is much more
on tap for visitors, including festivals, theme parks and a wide variety
of sporting activities ranging from spectator sports (the NFL Saints and
NBA Hornets are among the home teams) to more active pursuits such as
golfing and fishing.

capacity. Add to that 140 meeting rooms on the upper level, a 4,000-seat
auditorium and two luxurious ballrooms, and you have a world-class
facility suitable for trade shows and conventions of every size. Within

fine hotels, the Morial Center is perfectly situated for visitors to New
Orleans.
