The city that never
sleeps – the capital of the world – New York City is one of the top
global tourist destinations for countless reasons: art, music,
nightlife, cuisine, theater… the list goes on an on. Tourist sights like
the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building never fail to
impress, and that’s not even scratching the surface. Broadway shows,
museums & galleries, restaurants, sporting events and, of course,
shopping are just a few of the entertainment options for visitors to the
most exciting city on Earth. The Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney
Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art are among the highlights for
art lovers. Fifth Avenue has some of the most exclusive shops in the
city, and Times Square is a spectacle not to be missed. From high
culture at Carnegie Hall to tall sandwiches at Carnegie Deli, there’s
something for everyone in New York.
Jacob Javits Center
The Jacob Javits
Center, I.M. Pei’s gleaming glass and steel giant, sits on Manhattan’s
west side, between 34th and 39th Streets on 11th
Avenue. With more than 800,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, the Javits
Center offers vast exhibit halls, meeting rooms and broad pavilions to
accommodate trade shows and conventions of every size. No
trade show display is
too large here! Major events include the ever-popular New York
International Auto Show, the American International Toy Fair, PC Expo
and MacWorld, among many others. Even with its far west side location
(it’s practically on the Hudson River), the Javits Center is easily
accessible through public transportation (M34 and M43 buses), and, this
being New York, taxi cabs abound.
