What’s cooking in San
Francisco? The culinary capital of the West produces so much in the way
of epicurean delights that fine dining has been elevated to high art in
the Bay area. With one of the largest Chinatowns in the U.S., San
Francisco boasts some of the best in Chinese food. Grant Avenue and all
of its side streets are lined with great restaurants and food shops. The
Ferry Building, at the foot of downtown’s Market Street, is another
destination for foodies, with gourmet shops offering chocolates,
coffees, breads, cheeses and much more. Of course, there is more to the
City By The Bay than good eats. A lively downtown area is filled with
nightlife, shopping and cultural attractions to fill the spaces between
meals. Golden Gate Park, the Marina District, Nob Hill and the Castro
District are among the many areas of San Francisco visitors should
explore. For longer stays, it’s worth a day trip up to Napa Valley, the
beautiful wine country about an hour north of the city.
Moscone Center
The Moscone Center is
San Francisco’s premier convention and trade show venue, and it is
conveniently located in the center of the city’s vibrant downtown. With
more than 700,000 sq. ft., more than 100 meeting rooms and vast lobbies
and promenades, the Moscone Center is perfectly suited to play host to
events of different sizes. The 87-acre Yerba Buena Center that surrounds
the Moscone Center contains top-notch hotels, museums, theaters,
galleries and public parks. Easily accessible by BART, MUNI Metro and
Caltrain, the Moscone Center in the middle of all the attractions of
downtown San Francisco.
