Seattle is more than
coffee bars and the Space Needle, but don’t let that stop you from
enjoying a nice cup of joe and checking out the observation deck at the
city’s most famous landmark. The 74-acre Seattle Center was the site of
the 1962 World’s Fair, and the Space Needle is its enduring legacy. More
entertaining, however, is the Experience Music Project, the Frank
Gehry-designed participatory museum that delivers an interactive musical
experience. If you’re a music lover, visiting EMP is a must. Pike Place
Market is another Seattle highlight – you’ll find the best in gourmet
food, fresh flowers, jewelry and art in this enormous market that spans
three levels. The Seattle Waterfront is a mecca for tourists, with
Odyssey, The Maritime Discovery Center offering insight into the Puget
Sound and the North Pacific Ocean. The Seattle Aquarium is another
highlight, with sea otters, harbor seals and 380 species of fish on
exhibit.
Washington
State Convention & Trade Center
The Washington State
Convention & Trade Center is one of the premier event facilities in the
Northwest, offering more than 200,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space and
45,000 sq. ft. of ballroom space, all of which can be divided and
arranged as necessary. 54 meeting rooms can accommodate groups large and
small. Some of the most popular events at this venue include the Seattle
Summer Gift Show, Coffee Fest and the National College Fair. Located in
the heart of the city center, the Convention Center is steps away from
Seattle’s best hotels, restaurants and shops. The Convention Center is
serviced by Metro, Seattle’s mass transit system, via the Convention
Place Station, which is just one block from the Convention Center.
